Rigging and lunging in artistry
Having worked for over 20 years as a stunt coordinator for rope-assisted stunts and as a circus performer, I still give workshops on safety in rigging and lunging in the circus.
In collaboration with the Circus Akademie Berlin and the Palazzo Hamburg, whose artists I have the pleasure of supervising as a sports and respiratory therapist, I have developed a safety course that covers the most important aspects of safety in this area.

The Circus Akademie Berlin workshops are aimed at professionals and (prospective) circus teachers and circus trainers with and without experience. Participation from 18 years.
Safety-relevant work situations arise for trainers, especially in aerial arts. Training by an authorized person from the Rigging and Event Technology department is absolutely essential for dealing with this. Putting up and taking down props and stage equipment of all kinds requires specialist knowledge, on the one hand in material science, and on the other in practiced handling of various climbing options. The participants strengthen their safety awareness in relation to the training area and thus prevent accidents. You will learn how to set up a lunge line and practise using it on yourself and on a person you are training. They also practise setting up a pulley system for suspending aerial props and handling it correctly in the respective training situation.
